Control access to business finances

Choose who can inspect organisation financials and business documents without confusing them with project money.

What you'll achieve

Set and verify Hidden or View access to business finances.

You'll end up with: Priya Sharma has Viewer access and can inspect business financial documents without editing them.

Business money and project money are separate

Business finances protects organisation-wide financial data such as salaries, overhead, profitability, accounting connections, and financial documents that are not attached to a project. Hidden removes access. View allows inspection. Edit allows changes.

It does not grant project Revenue or Expenses. Those permissions come from the admitted project access level and branch. Business finances can cap automatic project grants, but it never opens project money by itself.

Compare Hidden and View

  1. 1

Open Priya Sharma's Access tab, save Contributor, and start Preview.

  2. 2

Confirm Invoicing is absent while Business finances is Hidden.

  3. 3

Stop Preview, save Viewer, and start Preview again.

  4. 4

Confirm Invoicing returns under View access.

    Step 4

Viewer is useful for a principal or adviser who needs oversight without changing business documents. Project Manager also has Business finances View. Admin has Edit.

Troubleshooting

  • Invoicing is hidden after choosing Viewer. Confirm the level was saved before Preview.
  • A project total is still visible. Check that project's Revenue and Expenses access. This is independent of the Invoicing navigation.
  • A redacted amount looks like zero. Hidden money should render as an em dash or be absent, never as a zero amount.
