Create your account

Sign up for Monument with a name, email and password: the personal login every colleague gets before their firm's workspace exists.

What you'll achieve

Create the personal Monument login you'll use to get into your firm's workspace.

You'll end up with: A personal Monument login, signed in and sitting on the organisation screen, ready to create or join a firm.

Every person who signs in to Monument starts with an account before joining or creating a firm. An account is deliberately small: a name, an email, a password. It doesn't belong to a firm yet, and it doesn't need to. That comes next.

For our running example, the account belongs to Sarah Chen at Northlight Architects.

The account is yours before it's anyone's firm

Signing up creates you, not a workspace. That distinction matters because Monument keeps the two separate on purpose: your login can end up attached to more than one organisation over time, so it can't also be the organisation itself. Think of the account as the key and the organisation, which you set up right after, as the door it opens.

You land on the sign-in page first. Since there's nothing to sign into yet, switch tabs and fill in three details.

  1. 1

On the sign-in page, switch to the Sign Up tab.

  2. 2

Enter your full name, the way you'd want a colleague to see it.

  3. 3

Enter your email address. It becomes your login, and where Monument reaches you.

  4. 4

Choose a password of at least eight characters.

  5. 5

Click Create Account. Monument signs you in and moves you to the organisation screen.

Troubleshooting

  • The next screen is about organisations, not a dashboard. A fresh account has no workspace attached, so Monument sends you straight to create or join one rather than showing you an empty dashboard.
  • If someone invited you, sign up with the invited email. Your invitation is tied to that address. Sign up with it, then return to the secure invitation page and accept the invite instead of creating a new organisation of your own.

Where this fits next

Account done. Create your workspace turns it into a live organisation, either your real firm or a demo company loaded with sample data to explore first.
