The Schedule Page Overview
An overview of Monument's schedule view — Gantt chart, resource swim lanes, and revenue graph.
Overview
The Schedule page is Monument's central planning view. It combines three interconnected sections that let you see the full picture of your projects — what work is planned, who's doing it, and how the financials track over time.
The Three Sections
1. Gantt Chart (Top)
The Gantt chart shows your projects and tasks as horizontal bars on a timeline. Each bar represents a task's date range, with nesting that reflects your project hierarchy.
From the Gantt you can:
- View task durations and overlaps at a glance
- Drag task bars to move dates or resize to change duration
- See dependency lines between linked tasks
- Click a task to open its property panel
2. Resource Swim Lanes (Middle)
Below the Gantt, resource swim lanes show how your team is allocated. Each team member has their own row, and coloured bars represent their allocations to specific tasks.
From the swim lanes you can:
- See who's working on what across all projects
- Spot overallocations — when a person is booked beyond capacity
- Create allocations by clicking on a resource's row
- Drag allocations to reassign or reschedule
3. Revenue Graph (Bottom)
The revenue graph shows milestone revenue plotted over time, giving you a visual of when income is expected based on your project milestones and billing schedule.
How the Sections Connect
All three sections share the same timeline axis — scrolling horizontally in one section scrolls all of them. This means the Gantt bars, resource allocations, and revenue projections are always aligned.
When you select a task in the Gantt, related allocations highlight in the swim lanes. When you adjust an allocation, the revenue graph updates to reflect the financial impact.
The Save Bar
Changes to the schedule are not saved automatically. A save bar appears at the bottom when you have unsaved changes. Click Save to persist your changes, or Discard to revert.
Monument auto-saves a recovery snapshot of your unsaved work. If your browser crashes, you'll see a recovery dialog on your next visit offering to restore your changes.
Filtering
Use the filter controls at the top of the schedule to focus on specific:
- Projects — show only selected projects
- Resources — show only selected team members
- Pools — filter by resource pool
- Statuses — hide completed or cancelled projects
Filters apply across all three sections simultaneously.
View Options
Customise the schedule display with view controls:
- View scale — switch between weekly, monthly, and quarterly zoom levels
- Gantt depth — control how many levels of task nesting to show
- Resource grouping — group swim lanes by pool, role, or show flat
- Section collapsing — collapse/expand each of the three sections
